My 6 month old Guinea pig, was being very adventurous last night and kept burrowing under my c&c cage blanket, I specifically clip it to the sides as I dont want them getting down there and eating the puppy pads underneath, he was having a blast until I took him out lol, I gave him a large cut of blanket and now hes happy and buries himself in that, does anyone else's guinea pig do this? is it safe for him? thanks :)

One of mine loved playing in a pile of blankets when he was a baby.
In the end I bought a cheap fleece off cut at the fabric store, and cut it into wide strips so he could have a pile of fleece to play in - this worked really well and unless your piggy is eating a lot of the fleece (none of mine have ever been chewers) then it is fine to let him play with a blanket.

Ah the fun of a burrower! We have never had one (thank goodness) but a good friend does and their boy is always under there... when he comes out is is always really hot and sweaty :))

great idea by @Swissgreys above maybe that will satisfy the desire to burrow

My girls love burrowing, they burrow in anything they can! I make sure I provide them with a blanket so they can snuffle around in it but I might try the fleece strips idea!

ah great, well since ive given him the blanket he hasn't bothered to go under with the puppy pads haha silly piggy :)

It is safe and piggies usually love it.

I often leave the dirty fleece and cosies in the roaming area as the piggies just lovel to burrow in it or climb over it while I clean their cage. The piggies have a whale of a time!

Thankfully none of mine like burrowing under their liners!

My Lara loves her fleece pouch and buries herself deep inside the pouch. Finn on the other hand doesn't care for pouches and prefers his fleece bed.

Both my piggies are indoor piggies so they stay in an air conditioned room during summer and in a heated room during the winter months.

Mine all love their fleece tunnels! I have turned them the other way out so that they have the cotton on the inside and the fleece on the outside in the hot weather. They can normally be found in one or two of them. Although they have been sensible and sat on the top of them on some occasions today.
