As most may know my piggies live in the garden shed… But it's not just a normal garden shed… Far from it!

It now has a shelf for all my lap pads, cosy and mega snug @MyGuineaPigPals

The girls now have a new compartment covered - they go up the ramp if they want
All the parts come out so it's easy to take apart but also to clean out too. Lino and megazorb :) plus now it's all boarded up on the walls - so be nice and snug in the winter and also we are working on an idea to keep it cool in the Summer. OH's friend who helped out suggested a vent or even getting a mesh door so air flow is constant. We'll get there and think of something.

The next section is the new bit! :D exciting!
;)
PS - could someone fix the attached photos and make them big… :P

You'll see the new area. All parts can be taken out and piggies can go up the ramp and stay in the top compartment or the bottom. Total freedom :)
Again lino and megazorb for easy cleaning. And have x2 hay pillows and hay bag on route from the lovely lady on Facebook! :D IMG_1073.webpIMG_1070.webp IMG_1072.webp IMG_1069.webp IMG_1074.webp IMG_1071.webp

And the garden is their play ground :) there are pipes for them to hide in and move from one place to another. The back will hopefully be overgrown with herbs… (we hope)
They have loads of hiding places too! Everything from bushes… pipes… hidies also we put out two pig loos for them too :)

that is amazing! Your piggies literally have their own house and garden, are they paying you rent for all that! It looks brilliant you have put so much work into it they are very lucky! They just need some sun loungers for the garden now lol! Well done you and your lucky piggies!

It looks good but I must admit I'd be concerned about cats in the garden and the toxicity of the chipboard. I'm guessing you're going to cover the ramps and new levels to stop the board disintegrating...?

It's not chipboard it's OSB boards and it's waterproof. When the piggies are out they are watched for the entire time. We don't leave them alone. Also they have been living in the shed for over a year and there have been no problems.

Loving the setup photos Jess

That's amazing what is osb board never heared of it before . I wish I had the room for that but I do love my boys in the house with me x

Wow, what lucky piggies - the shed sorry palace looks so well designed. They must be thrilled

My oh is a builder and has suggested that maybe lining the roof with celotex might keep some heat out in the summer and in in the winter.

You've got a fantastic set-up. A lot of hard work & planning must have gone into it. I love it.

Ohhhh can you ask him how he would go about installing an extractor fan?
firstly you need electric in there. An electrician will have to rig it up for you. It's just a case of cutting hole in shed and wiring it up safely. There's one on wickes website for £15. Failing that there might even be solar power ones now. Putting celotex on the inside of roof will help too. Those sheds do get hot in the summer don't they? I'd be tempted to get a summer hutch made up that you could put in the shade somewhere.

Sorry, I used chipboard as a generic term for particleboard of which OSB is a type of - formaldehyde is used to construct it, hence my concern. Obviously you've not had any issues so no need to worry! I'm surprised it's considered waterproof though, it falls apart if left outside. Also, good to know your pigs are supervised when out, your post gave the impression they were free to roam. :)
