Hi all, good evening, hope all is well.
Question for yas, over the past few days my boar has been moving his ceramic bowl across the enclosure but tipping it over in the process whilst I’m at work, I’ve been watching him tonight and he pulling at it with his teeth, has anyone else ever had this happen?

George likes a bowl in front of his snuggle tunnel so he can take a pellet without coming out. The bowl usually lives next to 2 water bottles so pigs can eat pellets and then take a drink without leaving their position at the bowl - they all do this. But George is more indulged because of his bladder stone and anyway he likes to drink water from a little syringe when he eats pellets. George has 'Staff'! Tonight I couldn't stop laughing because the bowl was right in front of the tunnel and he kept looking at it, and looking at me, and looking at the bowl.... in the end I took a pellet and offered it and he took it very nicely and then had a little drink of syringe water, and then repeated the whole process so I ended up hand feeding him several pellets (each with his drink of water) and he looked very content...

Maybe your boy wants to move the bowl to somewhere in particular... try putting it where he'd like it and see if he moves it again ☺️

My Bryce does this all the time. He even takes away the bowl from Whitney and doesn't want to share the food sometimes! 😂 Also, if he can't be bothered to stand up and walk to the bowl, he would pull it to be next to him where he is laying down. He will also push them away if he doesn't like it near him or to tell me "Hey slave the bowl's empty, put some more!". 🤣🤣

Hmm, ok thanks all, the water bowl has been tipped over again and empty so I’ve put a water bottle up instead and he’s drinking from it now. Maybe he didn’t want to stand on bowl to get a drink, see how this goes lol 😂

Our pigs shuffle the bowls about all over the place. I think they're playing chess. They've got water bowls as well as pellet bowls (they are fussy and don't like drinking from the bottles!) so it does make a mess if they're not careful! But what can you do? Pigs will be pigs.

What sort of enrichment does he have in his cage?
Lots of hay piles, cardboard things to chew on, wooden hides, scatter fed etc?
I only ask as I have had a couple of piggies that become quite destructive when bored.

Loads of hay, cardboard tubes, hanging chews, and I scatter treats,
