Piggie kisses.

Hello everyone,

I've had guinea pigs for a total of around 2 years now. I currently have a trio of boars. (Mad I know).

I've seen/heard of 'piggie kisses'. Is this when they lick your hand?
I'm always a little nervous to let them do this in case they decide my hand smells like carrot and decide to have a nibble rather than a kiss! :{

Ditto does this alot to me he gently licks and nibbles my hand its really sweet x

Both my pigs will lick and/or nibble my hand or cheek/nose- not biting hard. I call it a piggie kiss. It could just be that I am tasty, but I prefer to think of it as a kiss!

My piggies are kissy piggies, even if they have a nibble it doesn't hurt, piggies don't really bite unless they are scared

I have had piggy kisses from all my piggies (to various degrees of nibbliness! )
Ruby is the best piggy kisser, no teeth just lots of licks.
Esme, likes to kiss after shes had a nibble ( she doesn't want to miss out on any food!)
Rosie, doesn't lick very often, but if you have had food she will lick it off your hands.
And Miss Tia, is a bit hit or miss. She is like a baby and explores everything with her teeth, sometimes she will be gentle, other times she likes to nibble Hard! but she is very sweet.

None of my pigs have every bitten me so that it was painful, apart from when i've hand fed and the bit of food was too small for me to hold.

I only wish I could get piggy kisses! Peanut Butter opens his mouth for nothing but actual food. Hazelnut will bite if you get a finger right in front of his face. But he does love chin rubs, so I have to ask "chin rub Hazelnut?" and wait until he lifts his head and opens his mouth before it is safe for my finger to get near his face. Mind you, while I'm giving him his chin rub with one finger I can touch his teeth and lips with the other finger no problem. I guess that't the closest I'll get to a piggy kiss.

Hehe! They sound so cute. Jackson has given me a piggie kiss once which was strange. Brillo thinks everything put in front of his face is food so opens his mouth straight away haha!
