piggie grooming ?

Hey i wasn't sure where to put this but ... I was wondering, I purchased a small finger brush thing for grooming small animals and I was curious as to whether grooming my piggies will help to strengthen our connection, help to relax them when I'm holding them etc. (:
 
All handling will help strengthen your connection really, the more you handle them the more they'll get used to you. :)
 
cool I was just asking because I remember reading when I was doing some research that grooming them helps, so I was just curious what others thought of this (:
 
I tend to find my guineapigs are most receptive to being rubbed about the shoulders, upper back,chest, neck and head. This makes them close their eyes, chat and relax. If I rub around the lower back/back legs I get rumbling and dominance dances! I would suggest only visiting the rear admiral every once in a while during the grooming session, although I do find grooming their bums can be helpful if they become transfixed with worry! Kinda breaks them out of it and they worry more about their social status than the giant imaginary eagle flying overhead.

My ditto now falls asleep on my chest when I'm sat on the sofa cuddling him and even plays tug of war with my drawstring on my pyjama bottoms :-) everyone says hes more like a dog than a cat as he even scurries across the floor and jumps back into his cage and if he cant be bothered he will scurry back to me and try and climb up my foot and ankle for attention so i pick him up and put him in his cage.. He trusts me 100% and we have such a strong bond he wont go near my OH :(|) .. If anyone ever tells me guineapigs are stupid id tell them to take a look at my ditto because hes one clever creature. He loves our cuddles at night infront of the tv and sits there for atleast an hour moving occasionally to get comfortable, the only time he dislikes me is bath time then I'm the enemy xx>>>
