I was thinking of making a bed for my piggies out of fabric because they love snuggling.

iv been looking at beds for them everywhere and the the roofs dont seem to be low enough for them so snuggle into...

any advice for making one?

For the cost and effort of making one you'd be better off buying one. They work out in my opinion just as cheap, if not cheaper, than buying the materials yourself.

I've got 2 more beds from Hammocky Hammocks on order right now. It is kind of addictive all this piggie stuff. :red:))

For snuggling I've got 2 igloos from Marley's Madhouse already, they are the "Guinea Pig Igloos" about half way down the "Cozee Cups/Beds" page.

you ddont have to necessarily have a roof, you could just make a cup style instead? I dont put roofs to mine - they go on shelves so its kind of sheltered anyway!

Thanks for the link LennyPig :)

Piggies don't necessarily need roofs on their beds, I have a couple of well snuggled Pigtures that I've added below. Bob (first pic) is led *on* instead of in one of our Hammocky Hideouts, he also used to sleep in it but that wouldn't have made quite such a cute snoozy photo! And the second photo is Doodle snuggled up in one of our Oval Beds and completely out for the count!

If you go down the route of making your own beds, then I would suggest you try and stick to Polar Fleece as it doesn't fray, so less dangerous if nibbled, it doesn't shrink or fade in the wash like other fabrics do and if used properly it will wick any wet mess away from the Piggies skin. It's also very robust and fairly easy to work with which is an added bonus.

I've just got back to your email enquiry so hopefully that helps a bit too :)

my guineapigs always love going in my top. when i put my dressing gown down on the floor they went under the hood and had a snooze in the arm.. think it would be best for them to have a roof lol

The hooded ones are mega- cute Becky. I can see 10 of these under the tree this Christmas for my lot. :))

I've seen them a few times on the forum, have you got a direct link for where to buy them?

Just looking at the homepage is cuteness overload - and that is without seeing piggies in the cosies. Thanks Becky!

OMG what wonderful piggy crash pads...I have just had to order one for Robbie in funky leopard material....not sure what he will think of it lol...can't wait to get it now. If I had the chance I would sleep in it.

The Crash Pads are lovely :) Going to put an order in I think! I wouldn't know where to start with making one myself...

I agree, Jenny is a lovely lady, very helpful and a very quick response. I can't wait for Robbie's funky leopard crash pad to arrive, I hope he likes it, how could he not like it.

I've been really naughty, I have just also ordered a guinea pig bed and a hidey hammock from Jenny all in funky leopard. I am thinking of changing Robbie onto fleece from hay so I want it all co-ordinated for him lol. He is going to be so pampered, I hope he actually likes it.
