Please write the age of your pigs and describe how energetic, lively and healthy they are in this thread. You can post a picture if you like.

Two of my pigs are 2 years old and the four remaining are 1,5. They are really energetic and run araound and explore when in a wide area and at the end of the day, they usually go into their hiddies, tired and fall asleep. They are fairly fit, enjoy eating and squabble with each other from time to time which usually with lots of gritting teeth (:

Merab is my oldest. She is 5 and a half. She is bright, alert and happy to play but more sedately these days. She has a very healthy appetite.

Keziah and Jemimah are sisters. They will be 3 in March. They never stop. They enjoy coming out of the cage to play and happily wander around the house. Jemimah has the loudest wheek which is demonstrated at any sound that could possibly mean food. Both youngsters are at the bars to grab food as soon as it appears.

I don't mean to sound rude but has Merab got a cataract?

Yes - Merab has cataracts in both eyes and is now blind. Fortunately it doesn’t seem to bother her and she is still top pig.

I know Merab is a legend but then I may be biased. I’ve had her 5 years now and she is as pretty and lovely as the day she arrived. She has a placid and loving character, always seems puzzled by life and I’m completely besotted.

The eldest pig l had, complete with veterary records to prove it, was a sow called Marge , she lived till she was turned 11 years,
But generally speaking, average around 8 years is the norm
