A small village near Glasgow, in rainy Scotland!
Ok, my piggies live inside.

They get properly cleaned out and disinfected twice a week, and spot cleaned twice a day.(kept on fleece with litter trays of hay) And yet my father (who I live with) complains about the smell that neither my mother, nor I, can smell. My mum reckons it's the hay, and my dad being a pain in the behind declares that it's an "awful" smell. It can't be piggy pee or anything because I can smell it if I miss a cleaning day, so there.

So basically, I am looking for a pig friendly air freshner to spray at least once a day to quieten down my dad. Before it wasn't a problem as he lived and worked away, but now he is moving home so I can see it causing many more arguments!

Even home made suggestions will be welcomed. :)

I use the electronic air washers. They basically draw in the stale air and 'wash it' . The fragrances that come with them are all anti bacterial, anti allergen, good for asthma sufferers. You dont need to put a lot of scent in to get the benfit. The units are about £30 pound so a bit of a fee upfront but they last years. I have several of them and prefer the 'Goodsphere' range to others I have tried.

i have a few potted mint plants around my house and piggy room,it serves three purposes

deters flys
piggies can eat it
its a great way to freshen the smell without overdoing it or using an unsafe piggy product

Mint plants are a good idea:)

Mine are outside but when I had a lot of hamsters I use to use the natural air freshners I get from the health stores as they dont have strong chemicals in and are cruelty free, says ok for pet homes. Some smaller independant health stores will have it:

Smells like chocolate orange to me:))

I also use to put drops of tea tree oil on tissues and leave near the radiator as that smelt nice and is good anti bacterial.
