Hi guys here are some pics of the hutch my dad built for my piggies. It was painted dark green cause my dad insisted and each level is 5ft x 2ft. It cost around £100 to build (and a lot of elbow grease) though we got the wire for free. I would like some comments on what you think and for my noisness how much it would sell for (though it is REALLY heavy!)

The roof and two door at the bottom open but the top doesn't cause we didn't think it needed to

The hatch can be opened or closed!

The ramp - which my piggies will run up and down all the time (well one of them anyway!)

i was thinking to get another piggie i have two at the moment

Awwwwwwww WOWIE that looks amazing! Such a beautiful hutch too :)

Wow! So much extra room for your two piggies! Are they in it yet?! They are going to LOVE it! x)x) What a clever dad you have!

Wowzers! What a gorgeous hutch! Your dad is a very talented man - he should go into business!

I'd say that, if you were to buy a hutch of that size in a shop, you'd be looking at spending the best part of £200 easily, maybe even more.

This is an absolutely gorgeous hutch! Its so big and eat and beautiful!

I hope this is what mine looks like when it's finished!

What a brilliant Dad you have and I love the colour! You have some very lucky piggies there, look forward to seeing some pics of them in their new home.:)

Looks really nice! The wood shavings aren't good for the pigs though if they are pine.

You're dad is definitely a lot better at making things than mine... When my dad tried to build a hutch he got an old kitchen cupboard, turned it on it's side, pulled the back off to stick some wire there instead and cut a hole in the shelf to make two compartments for the piggy to wander in. That was it. There wasn't even a latch on the door...

Your hutch is wonderful dear, and I like the colour, I think it's pretty and fits nicely in your garden from the looks of it. Your dad should get lots of cuddles for making such a lovely home for your babies. ;)

Wow that's great how much did it cost to make? and how long did it take?
It cost about £100 - £110 to build but we didn't have to pay for the wire because someone gave it. It took ages to build and paint because my dad is a perfectionist if it was me I would hav ejust got some wood and wire and fixed it together but my dad has supports on the floor and so on. It took maybe 2 or 3 months though my dad didn't spend all day everyday on it. It only took a few hours to pain tthough:)

Aparently they are not but we havent had a problem with them yet and some people on the forum have had wood shaving for like 7 years without a problem so we are keeping with it for the moment!:)

thankz will tell my dad that the only problem would be - getting the hutch out of the shop cause it is so heavy!:))

WOW! Your piggys will be so pleased to get in ther I'd have thought!

Well done Dad! :))

It's lovely! Sure the piggies will be super happy! When we built our hutch it was great - we went all out, all day, everyday though and it was done in about 4 days... I think I agree the painting was the worst part!

Brilliant - tell your Dad we think he is a very talented man :)

And your piggies will be so excited investigating their new home

Looks fabulous. I've just enjoyed making a run for my nephews two guinea pigs, and plan to make some more things soon, so if your Dad doesn't mind, I'll copy some of his ideas!
