Flopped onto his left side and can’t/won’t move. Given him lexicom and waiting for vet to call back (RVC hospital about an hour away). Eating drinking and pooing ok and still talking. Possible stroke?

Glad he seems to have recovered. Bless him. And you too. ❤️

Wondering if he overheated a bit on my son’s lap plus his arthritis playing up?

I am sorry, I can't help you with idle speculations.

Piggies with arthritis can fall over but they usually end up on their back. They are usually busy trying to wiggle around to get back up straight away. They are not lying apathetic on their side.

Not expecting answers. Vet call back suggested we just monitor him and take him in if he struggles again rather than take him on a two hour round trip unnecessarily.

When he flopped last time in August he wasn’t eating either and we were straight to our usual vet. He had X-rays late August and a follow up check on Tuesday. So only lately reduced metacam/loxicom from twice to once a day but vet had said we might need to up it again depending on how he is.

Will call the other vet, only 15 minutes away, and decide if we still go at 4.30 or wait to speak to ours on Monday.

Good luck! It is always worrying. It looks more like something neurological, which is very difficult to diagnose. :(

All the best. Hope he’s better soon.

Sending healing vibes, hope poor lad recoveries and is back to his old self soon x

So after recovering well with no further signs of trouble moving in the weeks since and recovered and stabilised weight, last night he was cold and off his food. Syringe feeding started last night and cleared his cheek pouches this morning of old stinky food. Collected him after an afternoon at the vets and he’s very flat. Gut stimulant, recovery feed and hydration. He’s been warmed up and we have heat pads and central heating turned up to keep him warm. Sleepless night of syringe feeding ahead. Booked in to vets again the morning but our normal GP vet is away this week. At least we have enough fuel to get us to the vet. 🤞

Bless him. And you. Hope he starts to perk up soon. You are taking great care of him. Hope the vet tomorrow can get to the bottom of the problem. ❤️

Not going great. Just given loxicom, emeprid and trying to syringe feed but not chewing or obviously swallowing. 😢

I’m so sorry Pickles has gone over the rainbow bridge. You did all you could for him. He knew how much love you felt for him. Take care. ❤️

I’m so sorry Pickles has gone over the bridge, sending big hugs to you
Sleep tight little Pickles 🌈
