I've had my piggies for a month now, there about 12-16 weeks old, the short haired one daisy will hand feed and be stroked in the cage but as soon as I try to pick her up squeals like crazy and tries to jump out of my arms everything I try to pick her up even sitting on my lap she will escape and do a runner, as she has now getting a fungal infection how am I able to apply the cream(sucolan?) that I have to apply to her skin as she won't let me hold her longer than 5 seconds does anyone have any advice at all thanks in advance:)

The fungal infection might be causing her pain every time you touch her, so she probably won't stop squealing and being afraid until it goes away. You might just have to tough it out for now :/

She is probably associating the pick up with the application of the cream/lotion

Here is a video that shows you an easy stress free way of picking up piggies.

Where is the fungal infection? IS it healing with the cream? Did the vet prescribe the treatment?

so not apply any medication the poor piggies body is getting worse by the day, I feel helpless :(

If she is getting worse please go back to your vet.

There are many types of anti fungal treatment. I am tagging in @helen105281 for you she is very knowledgeable on skin conditions

Hi!

I would recommend to pick up your guinea pig in an upturned walk-in cardboard box that you cover with a towel. Lure her in with a little veg or grass treat and cover the door opening. This should help you to get at her without giving her too much of a chance to jump. Please treat her sitting on a soft surface, so she can't hurt herself badly if she somehow manages to jump blindly. Control her by supporting her upper body away from the ground with one hand, so she cannot push off easily for a jump.

Surolan is one of the more effective fungal treatments. Did your vet say whether it was just fungal or ringworm?

It takes time to build up trust with a guinea pig that obviously has made some bad experiences when being handled. Here are more tips on what you can do to slowly build up trust:

yes I have 2 piggies, one has already had the treatment and I was told to keep them together by a vet but now the other one is also poorly, there on sucolan (I can never remember the name), so I was going to start the treatment with her tonight but there is no way of picking her up, I've tried with all my hideys and tunnels but she still makes a run for it!

from what I can see its on her ear and her feet!, ear will probably be okay but the feet could be a problem!

Try the covered cardboard box trick. ;)

It sounds like it could be ringworm if it is that infectious. Did your vet warn you that ringworm can transmit to other species, too? Please read our ringworm guide carefully. If the first case of ringworm has happened within 2 weeks of buying your piggies, you can reclaim all your vet costs from the shop, including the second case.

If it turns out to be a pain response you could speak to your vet about giving pain relief half hour before treatment.

I always favour Imaverol as a fungal treatment which is used as a dip but can also be used as topical treatment between dips. If the Surolan doesn't help, this could be your next course of action. The problem with topical treatments is that they only treat one area of the pig.

aww good luck with getting her... it can be hard, mine squeal sometimes and run for the hills but as soon as I've got them they are ok... it is hard though so good luck with it xx
