Guinea pigs are natural prey animals and so will run away if you try to pick them up. It takes years for guinea pigs to come to the side to be picked up.
Its best to use some kind of conveyance like a cuddle sack to pick them up if your not confident catching them. Because piggies are prey animals its unlikely they will every just sit still and let you pick them up .
just takes a little bit of time, ive had my 2 a month or so now and they get better each time i pick them up but i find if you srtoke them before their alot better
It takes longer than a week or two. He needs time to get used to you and you have to earn his trust.
Be patient, offer treats in your hand and build up to petting him while he's standing with you.
If your pig is a girl just imagine the he's are she's, I couldn't remember if you had mentioned the sex of your pig by the time I reached the message box :red
Anyway good luck and happy piggy bonding
