Phoebe’s has been to the Vets

I was just thinking how lovely it was that no pig was causing me any anxiety - Hah!
Phoebe decided to lose some weight and go all quiet.
I gave her some Oxbow Critical Care which she took, put a dish in the cage last night.
Neither nose in the dish belonged to Phoebe
This morning I phoned the vet and we went in this afternoon.
I still had to talk to the vet on the phone and sit in my car outside - it’s a very small surgery.
Phoebe had a thorough check and the only thing the vet found was some discomfort at her back. There’s no sign of arthritis fortunately but the vet thinks she may have pulled a muscle which is why she’s uncomfortable and not cleaning her bottom as well as usual.
Phoebe now has 5 days of cat Metacam ( 2.4ml once a day) to help her.

Personally I blame an over enthusiastic boar!

She is much brighter today. The Metacam is already working.
Micah contented himself with some enthusiastic eye licking today!

Phoebe seems to be back to her normal bright and bouncy self.
She runs away every morning when I try to give her the Metacam until she realises what it is.
I’m relieved this has done the trick but will check her over tomorrow to make sure there’s no discomfort still.

Phoebe is fine
Weight going back on, no sign of discomfort and she can clean her own bottom again.
Of course, the last day of Metacam was the day she came to take it willingly and wouldn’t let go of the syringe!
