How many piggies can I have in it? It's pretty much the same dimensions as the Rose cottage, I think :) my pigs get lots of time outside too, but just wondering what my piggy capacity is!

That is about 4' I think. I have two lads in a similar one, just a bit smaller. I think I would certainly put 3 girls in there. If you put 4 in, it would be a bit short on space, and you would be forever cleaning it out the way girls pee and poop. xx

If it's like Rose cottage that says it's 5' X 2', so you'd be able to fit loads of girls in there, since it's two storey. I'd say 4 girls would fit comfortably with loads of extra space. Probably even more.

If it was one storey and 5'X2' then it'd be fine for 3 girls, so the extra storey must mean you can add one or two more right?

I read somewhere that even if it's a 2 storey you can only count the space of one level (but that could have been on a rabbit forum :{ )

I would probably make a "wall" to go at the side of the ramp.

I don't dis count my top level, it has a full size bedroom, a running space across the front which I have a snack shack tunnel on so they dont fall down the hole, and a little sleepy place at the other end. Definitely, it is space, so why not include it? If it is closer to 5', then as Ciara says, more will fit in. Maybe even a husband for them? lol xx

Yeah I would definitely count it as more space. Maybe not double the space, but it definitely gives them more space, and also they can "get away from each other" by going on different levels, which is great, especially if they aren't getting on great that day!

I guess if each level was only 3' X 1.5' or something, then they wouldn't have enough space to run around for 1 or 2 pigs. But if each level is big, then I think it's alright.

I think I'm getting confused with bunnies :{

In my opinion levels count if there's one good size level, not if the two levels together make it ok, if you understand what I mean? The bottom level of my cage meet the 6x2 requirement for 4 pigs and the top level is big enough for all four together so it makes me think I could probably add another pig space wise. It would increase the poop load by 25% though which I don't think this cage (or I :))) could cope with!

They do say for guinea pigs too, that you can't count the space as double, but I think you can count it as a bit extra.

In my two storey hutches I put all their food, water, hay rack, etc. downstairs so the whole upstairs is for running around or sleeping, and it frees up space upstairs so it definitely is a bit better than a single storey.

I'd say it would probably be ok. If you think it's a bit crowded you could make some hideys for the bottom level that are big enough to hang out on top of, kinda like tiny coffee tables or so :) I think it's always good to give them areas to get away from eachother!

With five in that hutch you're probably not looking at once a week cleanouts though, but you may be ok with that :)

Yeah think I will do that!
I already clena them 3 times a week so it shouldn't be a problem! :)
