Just popped up to P&H this morning to get my boys a Carrot Cottage. Having a wander round and noticed that they are selling Lavender scented sawdust/wood chips. It’s for rabbit and guinea pigs! Where has this scented stuff come from? On looking further there are scented powders and sprays too, this is going to upset lots of piggies who don’t like strange smells and will be marking their territory with more vigour! How ridiculous!

Saw those myself yesterday. I’ve decided to shop elsewhere in future. There’s been a few issues raised on the forum with p@h . I’ve lost faith in them. Glad you raised this issue. Thank you

I try not to go there too much, two beautiful little piggies in the adoption section this morning “been there too long” sign! 😔

I don’t go there at all. The nearest one (still a fair distance away) is too much trouble to get to and I know I’d be bringing everybody home with me!

I get most of my supplies from a local equestrian goods supplier. It’s bog standard, the piggies love it and I feel happy I’m supporting local businesses ;)

Nothing nicer than the smell of a piggie when it’s been in deep hay! Can’t stand artificial smells 🥴
I'm allergic to nearly all artificial perfumes, usually my house smells of hay and piggies which is a lovely smell! Tonight my house smells a bit of piggy wee but that's only on Tuesday nights when its been almost 4 days from the Saturday cage clean until the big Wednesday clean out.
Tomorrow night my house will smell of Ollie's very special brassica flatulence because I have some tenderstem broccolli for tomorrow's treat bags... but I much prefer piggy smells to choking artificial perfumes, I would sniff Ollie's broccolli bum over perfume or air fresheners any day!

Me too!

I always apologise to my daughter (she's one of those millenial young people who wear lots of perfume) in case my house smells like a crazy old lady pet smell house... but she always says it smells "friendly" :) and mostly like hay and warm animals! She likes to leave her baby in the piggy room for a nap because of the friendly smells that are soothing and will help protect him against pet and hay allergies later in life!

Oh and I can't wear make up either or my face is itchy for days.
I dont own any make-up eithet, I last wore a bit of make-up on my wedding day over 10 years ago but not since! I look better with eye make up apparently because my eyelashes are invisibly blonde but only for 3 minutes until my chronic conjunctivitis flares up and I cant see out, then it doesnt look or feel good at all!

I know that feeling! Ouch

I'm fine with perfume etc if it's one I like lol but if there's any plug ins, especially the air Wick 3volution it makes me go light headed so I'm not good with very strong scents.

I'm fine with make up, I won't go out without some on but I do have sensitive skin on my face and have to be careful what face washes/masks I use cos they irritate my skin.

perfume makes me wheeze and sneeze, along with candles, plug ins and air freshener. I can get away with some makeup but have to be careful. Most sun screens bring me out in hives.
