Hi, can anyone tell me what price these pet shops such as the infamous Ps at H that sell live animals are charging for guinea pigs, and whether it is true that they do a sort of "gift pack" putting hutches, food etc together with guinea pigs for a price?
(No - I haven't abandoned my ethics and morals for the new year and started supporting the pet trade - it's part of a *tale* I'm trying to work out if it's true or not!)

When I was looking to get my first piggies, I vaguely remember it being around £25 per animal. But that was quite a while ago. I wasn’t offered any pack to go along with them, if I had got them from there…

The pet shop (not p@h) that use to be round the corner from me did a free hamster with any cage.

Oh, well that proves to me that just because one doesn't want to believe something happens, doesn't mean it doesn't!
Thanks for the info ThatPurpleB

P@h piggies are £25 each rabbits are £50 each I'm not sure if that's the same from their adoption corner. They don't do bundle deals anymore as far as I know.

My local pet shop (not a chain store and one I had previously liked) had a "Christmas deal" last time I went where female Guinea pigs were buy one get one free for Christmas and at least one of the piggies in the deal looked very pregnant. They also did a pay now pick up on Christmas eve scheme to encourage people to buy pets as gifts.

I know the local shop (not chain shop) I get supplies from sells piggies for either £60 or £80 a pair.

No package, everything else is an additional purchase

I’ve been reminded of another pet shop. It’s where I’ve gotten both my pairs actually. They will not sell singles and didn’t have singles in. Piggies are sold for about £35 each if I remember correctly. Everything else was additional.

Yes, this ties in with what I had been told, and in my innocence found impossible to believe - every time I think I have heard it all........................................

When we got P&P from PAH almost two years ago there was no bundle deals or anything we just bought everything and swiftly replaced it all when I learnt better!

I've not bought any pigs from pet shops but I have adopted and it was £15 per pig. No bundle offer. Hamsters had a £10 adoption fee, again no bundle.
