We go and collect our two piggies tomorrow (very excited) and I wanted to just check that the carriers that we use for the hamsters would be okay to transport them home. The carriers are Trixie Pico Traveller. The piggies will be 6 weeks old. Will they be okay travelling in these?

We are buying a cage off this woman as well as the guinea pigs. Would they be okay to be transported in this? Or do they need something a bit smaller to travel in?

What size is the cage you are buying? It would be better for them to travel in a bigger cage than the little hamster carrier, just cover the cage with a towel so that they dont get scared.

I would invest in something like in the link i gave you for transporting, it would be much better for them, and you will get use out of it in the future, especially as they grow and wont fit in the hamster carrier.

But the thing is we are collecting the piggies tomorrow and there's no way I could get one of those that quickly so as a temporary thing what would be the best thing to transport them?

Use the cage you are buying tomorrow and get a bigger transportation cage for the future, for vet trips etc.

I have a fabric washable puppy carrier in a gorgeous floral fabric and the piggies have space to move but can also cuddle up and being fabric rather than plastic it means if I brake quickly and they go flying a little bit its into fabric rather than plastic :-)

puppy carriers are easily found and cheap too :-)
