I am new to this forum and getting my piggies soon!

Please could anyone recommend a good carrier for them. To take home, vets etc.

I had a look at one in Pets at Home and the hinge came off when opened, which put me off!

Thank you for any help, this forum is such a great source of info!

I just use a cheap cat carrier (the plastic type not fabric ones). They are cheaper and a damn site stronger than the specific small animal ones. Then put newspaper on the bottom, with loads of hay for them to hide in.

I find the small cat carriers are best. I line mine with newspaper then a piece of vet bed on top. I've just bought a new one from The Range for £9.99.

I bought a cat carrier from the BM store which is much cheaper than P@H.

There were 2 sizes so I bought one of each as I have so many animals

Sometimes I use the smaller one if only taking one animal but I do tend to use the bigger one the most as I tend to always take a friend along to keep the other one company :)

The plastic ones are easy to clean and fold down to pack away when not being used.

I also just line with newspaper and then with hay for travelling.

I do use the cat carrier, though while the cat was using it at boarding and I needed to take pig to the vets I use a plastic box with a towel over the top to stop jumping out. Cat carriers are the best as they are more roomy.
