did you have to make the correx floor from two separate pieces of correx?

i am finally getting round to building ches and maisie a 5 x 3 grid cage but can't seem to find a correx sheet big enough. the sides of the cage will have to be quite high, as we have a really draughty house.

thanks.

If needs be you can mine is 4 x 3 and I managed to get correx that size but I did have to stick the sides on...

Invisible Duck tape Extra strong and Waterproof :)!

thanks. i thought i might have to do the floor in separate pieces. didn't want to really. do i just join it together in the same way then, with tape?

I would imagine so I had to tape mine loads and correx is so annoying :))!

don't say that! i get really angry with things! :)) i spent ages building the bunnies cage and it was a nightmare! :))

just been trying to work out how many sheets i need to get now! getting the blue correx i think. poor chesney has to put up with everything else being pink, so this will be for him! :))

really excited. they were supposed to get this new cage at xmas so i really hope they will love it. :)

got to make a small stand for it aswell with wheels on so i can wheel it out to clean. it's in an awkward place and i can't stretch that far! not too flexible here! :))

Good luck and may I suggest not having any animals or small children in the room when building... best for them not to hear curse words :))

my bf just said he is moving out until i have finished building! rolleyes:))

do you just clean correx like you would a normal cage floor?

and i need ideas for a hay area for them. ches loves to burrow, but maisie will probably chew a correx box/tray, and probably a plastic tray aswell. rolleyes any ideas anyone?

Correx cleans really well. Just wipe it over as you would a cage floor. At the moment I have cheap cat litter trays (£1.32 each) with megazorb and hay in. I change the hay everyday and the megazorb twice a week. I'd be tempted to try this before you try anything too elaborate just to see how your guinea pigs behave in the C & C layout.

Good luck! :(|)

thanks, i will do. they had them plastic trays in before though and maisie nibbled the edges. suppose i could wrap some fleece round them.

i'm so angry! just ordered the correx and the laptop went funny and instead of two sheets, it went through as one, and now i have paid postage and vat for one sheet! and if i order the second i will have to pay that again! pow-powmallethead

i have emailed to see if i can just pay for the second sheet. will see if they are a decent company or not! i said if i can't then cancel the other order! :)) but then i bet my money will take ages to refund! why meeeeeeeeeeeee!! pow-powpow-powpow-pow

yay, the company let me pay for the extra sheet and just a pound extra for the postage because the first sheet has been sent out already. wasn't expecting that, really nice of them. :)

Does anyone use vinolay( the stuff you use on kitchen floors ) instead of correx . I like it because I can buy any size ie 3metres x 4 metres which I need on the conservatory floor for the piggies winter home?

Yep - I used Vinyl flooring in mine - It's much easier to use than Correx, and the wood effect one I bought looks nice too!

yay, my correx is here now! :<> just got to get some more bits and then i can attempt to build the cage! so excited! :<>:))

I used vinyl in my old house, got a wood effect off cut for £1o but now I use correx as it goes up the sides :)

where did you order your correx from? I'm looking to extend my cage now I have moved house and last time they had to cut it so it would fit in my KA mallethead

I'd love to get some delivered!

you mentioned chewing it is worth buying some plastic stripping to put round the top and drill holes through and cable tie it on. there is a demo on youtube but i can't seem to post it so will send it you via message!
