...do you keep your piggies in it all the time and not move them to a separate run for exercise time etc?

my two are in a cage at the moment that is 5ft x 2 and a half ft approx, and i move them into a run to play aswell in the day. but i want to build them a larger c&c cage and have room to make it about 6ft x 4ft or a 6ft x 3ft with upper level aswell. but if i did this would they be ok to stay in there instead of going in a different run aswell?

they will be going outside over the summer aswell in their run.

:)

The big C & C you have is great. You could go upwards as well, but definitely dont need a separate indoor run. Good to have a covered run for outdoors though. Hope all is going well with Chesney & Maisie. x

ok, thank you. i think i just like changing things! rolleyes

i think i am going to build a bigger cage...so i'll keep you updated! :))

nutmeg - things are great with chesney and maisie thank you. she has settled in so well and has come on so much since she arrived. chesney loves her to bits and i think she loves him too! x)

I have two big C&C cages one is 7ftx6ft and the other 6ft by 6ft. I try to move them out of the cage for a couple of hours once/twice a week one because when doing a big clean they are a nightmare and try to get into everything and two I think its good for them to have a change of scene.

But the cages you are building sound great - bigger the better I say!

wow, your cages are big! i just thought why not use all the space i have available for them as one big cage, rather than a separate cage and run. makes sense really.

do you have pics of your cages?

My c&c cage is 9.5 grids long and 3 grids wide. It's also open so that my girls can run around the house but most of the time they are more than happy to stay in the cage and two never leave it unless I make them. I think that shows that if your cage is big enough then they do not need an extra exercise run.
