Hi everyone! I wanted some opinions regarding the bedding that people use to line their litter boxes. I searched previous posts and there are definitely many options but some of them are bedding types that are only really available in the UK and I'm in the US. I'm currently using a corner litter box for my girls lined with a pee pad and I hang hayracks above. I'm looking to transition into using something that will be less wasteful. Currently a single pee pad lasts me about 3-4 days (I cut it in half and use both sides) but that means I do have to change/flip it once a day...otherwise the pad feels wet and I don't like them standing/sitting in that. I got a huge pack of pee pads for free, but I'm almost running out so I figured I should probably consider other bedding options that might be better. On Amazon I think I can get 100 pads for about $20 which isn't so bad. Some of the other options I thought of were using newspaper with hay on top but this is my least desired choice because I don't like that the newspaper sticks to the bottom of the litter box. Or I could use Carefresh on top of newspaper or pee pads?

And then lastly I was wondering if anyone has tried Oxbow's pelleted litter? I assume in terms of absorption it is great, but I can't imagine it is comfortable for them to stand on a hard/lumpy surface. Here's a link if anyone wants to check it out: Oxbow Animal Health
Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I used to use paper chip for my pigs (I use all fleece now). It is great as you only have to change it maybe once every 3-4 days and it really conceals odor. Is this what you're referring to?

Yes that is what I'm referring to but I'm just concerned about their comfort especially since my last pig passed away because of bumblefoot so I'm extra paranoid about the bedding my piggies are on. I think I may stick with pee pads but add a layer of Carefresh or hay on top just for more absorption and "cushion" in a way.

It's actually a bit softer than it seems. I'd recommend buying some and trying it. If you don't like it, you can just go back to pee pads.
Hm...that's a great idea! I thought it would be pretty solid but I'll give it a go. Thanks!
