I have a guinea who just turned 3! :) But there is a problem. Idk what's up with her. I used to hold her for an hour and she wouldn't pee on me. Now, (this has happened at least 5 times) whenever I get her out of her cage she pees right on me! It doesn't make any sense. I can't hold her for more than a minute now! And today, when I was about to put her down I noticed a little pee on the paper towels I had placed on my laps, I continued by picking her up to place her on the floor so I could throw them out when she continued to pee! She spurted all over my clothes! (Not very nice for me lol) And so I quickly placed her on the floor. That was when I saw that her pee was basically water so I was wondering if she didn't actually need to pee cause normally it stinks a lot more.

Anyway though, I was just wondering what could have brought on this sudden urge to pee on me and my friends whenever we pick her up for more than a minute.

:) Thx for your time!

P.s. I am now inspired, I really want to create a guinea pig site! Or help with one, lol.

Did you feed her lots of watery vegetables recently?

Or, I don't know, maybe now that she's older she can't hold her bladder as well..? lol :)

Thanks for the feedback Guineapiggea! :)

And I don't think I've changed anything in her diet recently, oh wait, I've been giving her a little more grapes.

Maybe this phase will just pass lol. XD

Keep an eye on her and maybe just slack off a little on the watery foods. Hopefully it will pass soon so you won't have to wonder :)

OMG, I think i might know. Idk it's just that today, I picked her up and literally 5 seconds later she peed right down my shirt. Do you think she's marking her territory? She is very territorial.

Is she drinking a lot more than she normally does? Is is it the act of picking her up that is causing her to wee - squeezing the tummy or basically putting more pressure on a full bladder?

If she is being territorial then the wee would be squirted out at you with the bottom lifted right up, as a warning to you. If she is simply unable to control her wee then do look for any other signs of problems. I'd check her weight and watch her fluid intake.
