I have fleece bedding everywhere except where their hay is. I'm thinking about getting some fleece pee pads to put in the areas they seem to tinkle a lot in (mostly their hideys and one particular corner) and hopefully be able to swap those out and avoid changing the bedding *quite* so often. Has anyone had luck with this approach?

Hi there, yes, I've made double thickness fleece squares I call pee pads which I put under houses, arches etc. I also put them inside squbes and soft houses. I change those daily and it does help keep the cage cleaner and tidier. I think they are great.
Poppy had a recent spay and I changed the pads twice daily to help keep her clean and tidy. I could also see from the pads if there was any blood.

I agree with @VickiA .
I have a pile of homemade pee pads which I use in all of the 'high pee' areas, so I don't have to change the main liners as often.
I also pop one under their pellet bowl, as my lot seem to grind their pellets into a fine powder and then dance all over the powder, trampling it into the fleece!
It is much easier to brush off and wash a small pad daily, then a huge liner with ground in pellet dust.

Genius idea @Swissgreys - the pellet bowl area looks like it's sprayed innfine ground pellets. I will also put a pad under the pellets from now on. Thank you

Yep. I love pee pads! I also use vet bed and microfibre bath mats as protection in their hidies. Works a treat. Mine are pretty good at weeing mostly in their litter tray which is brilliant of them.

Yep, I use home made pads in the corners where they pee and in their favourite sleeping spots as they wet the bed! Saves washing the vetbed so often. I also make extra mats for the fleece houses they use for floor time.

Pee pads work a charm! I put them on the bottom of the cage, then add a couple towels on top (depending on the size of the cage) and then I put down the fleece. It works great, and because the fleece comes over the edges, I barely ever need to wipe down the cage. there is so much absorbent, that the bottom of the cage does not get any pee on it, so i just throw away the pee pads, shake off the fleece, and put the fleece and the towels on the laundry.
I personally use the disposable ones, because there is a plastic layer on the bottom, which is why i never have to scrub down the cage. but the reusable ones can work too, depending on what they are made of.
I got mine from the dollar store (i live in america as well), and you can too.
I hope this helped!
