It’s been 6 weeks since Patrick was desexed so we are trying the bonding now.

I think it’s going well? Patrick is going crazy humping, especially Mary. They’ve all told him off a bit when he goes over the top. But nothing too bad, They just seem annoyed with his constant humping rather than actually disliking him.
It’s quite a warm evening and I’m worried they are all getting a bit hot and bothered. They keep laying down every few minutes.

Hope it all goes well. It took a couple of days for things to calm down when I introduced Georgie to Mavis and Peggy. Once he realised he was never going to be leader of the herd everyone settled down.😄

Best of luck. If it's anything like the bondings I have done, being told off just seems to encourage them more! I remember my first neutered boar, Peter, used to go on a popcorning session everytime he was told off and then just started humping again

All was going well during the 2 hr floor time. Everyone just went and flaked out in their own corner.
I’ve cleaned out the cage and opened Patrick’s cage up on the side to make it bigger (Told my partner it’s just for a ‘few’ days so they have more room to get to know each other:shh:;))
Everyone’s having fun exploring. Patrick is excited and chase humps Mary every now and then but he’s settled down a bit. Everyone’s jumping in the hay boxes eating so that’s a good sign their getting along and also that their not too hot and bothered?
Thought the upstairs would be a good hideout for the girls as I doubted Patrick would know how to go up there.. Nope he figured it out in 2 minutes :))

He’s being quite a pest. But there is no loud squeaking or much rubbling going on, Hope it doesn’t take long for him to get it all out his system.
It’s going to be 42 tomorrow so I really don’t want the pigs to be too active as the cottage struggles to cool down in that heat.

This is what Patrick is doing too! Someone tells him off and he runs away all happy with himself popcorning!

Had the same with my cheeky Luigi in July, he didn’t get the ‘leave me alone you annoying blooming humper’ signals at all! Was quite pleased with himself and ran around like a nutter before power-napping and giving it another go! Took quite a while with him and Jess but at least your girls are united in telling him to bugger off!
Good luck! :D x

Feel so bad for laughing but the thought of any pig doing this is great. Best of luck with your bonding xx

Makes me laugh when they hump, I could hear bernies feet smacking on the laminate floor like a blumming road drill haha

I’ve gone to bed and left them too it now, I’ve closely monitored them for 3 hours and haven’t seen anything too dramatic.
All the boxes I’ve given them have 3 doors so plenty of escape roots. 3 hay trays, 3 water sources and 4 pellet bowls (and they shared a veg dinner nicely).
And I’ve left the Bedroom door open a crack so I can hear if there is any fights in the night.

Hope it’s all a big success and they are all awaiting breakfast settled and happy together x

I’ve been home all day today as it’s FAR too hot to go outside, so glad I’m not working so I could keep an eye on the pigs in this weather.
All is going well with the girls and they’re new boyfriend. Olive, who is the smallest girl and at the bottom of the herd is quite funny with him. She really goes for him telling him off just when he walks past or is tying to eat hay near her. He kind of just ignores her threats and brushes them off.. Poor Olive trying to be miss big bossy pants but not being taken seriously :)) .. I think she secretly fancies him though..
I haven’t seen any humping today which is great, he rumbles around quite a lot but other than that everyone is just stretched out trying to keep cool (so am I!)

here is my weather right now, The bottom one is where I use to live in the U.K.! Funny to see the difference 🥵

And totally off topic, This Young cockatoo has been hanging about a lot today, keeping an eye on him (okay so I have been outside briefly!). Never been able to approach these wild guys before so assumed something was wrong but I think he’s just a juvenile who’s struggling to keep up with the flocks and a bit tired. He’s happily in the tree now with other too’s

Maybe Olive is like my late Bumble. Everytime I did a bonding for that group she would desperately try to boss the newbie around, you could see the desire not to be bottom piggy but that's where she always ended up
