Hi everyone!
I noticed last night that Patrick wasn’t acting himself, I popped him on my lap hoping that he’d poop or pee, which he didn’t. I was quite certain he had developed bloat. Just before I noticed he was sick, thought he was just sleepy! he happily ate his veggies.
But when it came to pellet time he wasn’t very interested in them so I knew for sure he was unwell. He was excited for a couple of syringes of critical care and a small dose of metacam.
At 5am he was sitting in the hay tray slowly eating some hay but also looking uncomfortable.
7.30 am I still hadn’t noticed him poop so took him straight to the vet which is an hour away and then straight to work for 9.30 meaning I’ve left him at the vets for ongoing care throughout the day.
I’ve been trying my best not to worry too much as he is still relatively active and has a small appetite.
Vet phoned at 1pm, he still hadn’t pooped but still bright in himself. He’s had an X-ray which showed nothing too interesting which is good! But there is a bit of gas. So he’s had medication and injections to help his gut move and also pain relief. Hoping that his gut will start moving this afternoon! He’s got his next injection at 5pm and I’ll pick him up at 6.
I really hope he gets better, I love him so much! And his 3 wives would be lost without him
