Hey everyone,

I have several piggies all of which have seen the same vet since they were born. (I'm not breeding I accidentally had a litter). Well we noticed our little girl had lost some weight and would put food in her mouth and just drop it back out. To ensure she got water I syringe fed her water and scheduled an appt at the vet. Well today while waiting she was climbing all in my jacket and snuggling, nudging my chin, making her sweet little noises, and rubbing her nose on mine and my wife's. (I attached a Pic from five min before she passed) The vet comes in and looks at her teeth first and they were fine and starts his physical exam. I've watched him do my piggies exams many of times and it seemed the same although she seemed rather uncomfortable. As he finished with her lower section he made on her ovaries and felt a possible cyst then does a little more mashing and stops. When he stopped she went limp and they rushed her to the back. Unfortunately they left her on oxygen so we could say our goodbyes and she passed.

Has this happened to anyone?

Any possible thoughts of what could have happened?

My vet is amazing so I don't blame him by no means I'm just lost clueless at this point.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet piggy. I've never had a pet pass in the vet office after an exam; it has happened shortly afterwards, but it is still very upsetting.

I am very sorry for your loss.

Thoughts? He ruptured something like the large intestine that was blocked. It caused sepsis, and she passed.
It’s a thought. Dying during an exam does sound odd.
