When my Millie was 6 weeks old she got the parvo virus from the kennels we got her from, she was at the vets for a week and very nearly died, but luckily she pulled through, millie is 4 this year and always has her annual booster injection.

now my sister has a horse stabled with a woman who's dog has got parvo, and we are really worried she may contract the virus again, it is possible for that to happen through where this woman has been walking etc? as my sister walks around where she has been ive made her keep her wellies outside away from the dog, and made her get changed (although she had already cuddled the dog before changing) were both really worried she may get it again, what do you think the possibilities are?

we lost a dog from parvo thru a vet her was being treated with

the best thing is to go to the vet and get it all checked out just in case, and if youre up to date with booster injections it should be ok,but i would still talk to the vet too

Best thing you can do is,when your sister comes home get her to take her shoes off outside, and also change her clothes before she enters the house, your dog should be fine as she would of built up an
imunity from having parvo as a pup and with having her yearly booster,Have not heard of any parvo being around on the dog forums I belong to,where do you live so that I can put a warning out on the dog forums I belong to

Parvo is an awful disease and needs to be caught early for a good outcome,I wish I knew as much about Guinea pigs as I do about dogs

it was horrible when millie had it, we had to go to the vets with her 3 times and they still wouldnt take her in for parvo i was sure she had it but they kept saying no and finally on our 4th visit the vet said yes she has it, heart breaking but my mum saved her life because she kept giving her fluids and making her scrambled egg and syringing it in to her because she wouldnt eat, the vet said if it hadnt of been for that then she wopuldnt have had any chance at survival.

I'm in lancashire btw, not going top disclose which part though I'm sorry.

Thankyou very much,Lancashire will do fine, will put a message on the dog forums now,so doggy owners can keep a watch on their dogs :)
