I'm looking for plain paper bags for my rabbits and guinea pigs. It's just for putting hay and little snacks in so they can play with them for a bit.

I checked ebay but I only saw very big ones or colourful ones and I'm not sure if they are safe?

Has anyone done this before?

My rabbits and guinea pigs usually eat anything they can rip off, so I don't know if I'd put paper bags in the pen. They could get stuck on their heads too or they got just eat the bag instead. I just use a large heavy dish to put treats in.

I have once or twice (few days ago actually), one tad bigger than the average piggy without handles. I just shoved some hay in during floor time and see if they liked hiding in it (ended up throwing it away because it was used as a toilet lol). My piggies don't really attempt to eat anything like wires or paper bags etc, but if yours do I wouldn't risk it if it could block.

I put paper bags in empty, mine love going in & out then they chew them, great fun for them. They do different sizes on Amazon. The brown ones are a little thicker so last longer.

Our local supermarket sells them with the cling film and foil, etc.
My lot love trashing a paper bag with hay in it.
They don't last long (in all honesty they usually get peed on pretty quickly) but Eddi in particular does like a snooze in a paper bag filled with hay.
I don't imagine they could be dangerous given that piggies can eat rather a lot of cardboard without issues.
Obviously they need to be pain paper (not treated or coloured, etc).
