I had a bit of an idea today....
I was cleaning my C & C house and the girls definately wee in one particular place.
I was thinking what i could put there to be extra absorbent and thought i could use some pampers bed sheets. I have some left over from when my daughter was potty training.
They draw moisture away from the surface has any one elce used something like this?
Well i will let you know how well it works

What an interesting concept. I look forward to hearing how you get on. I line my piggies cages with newspapers and lots of kitchen roll, then the megazorb on top. Pampers may be the way to go.

Yes origionally i thought it would be expensive but they are toddler bed size and because the wet area is only in the corner i thought they can be cut, will definately let you know how i get on with it

Would those be similar to puppy pads? I don't have any kids, so all I know is that Pampers is a brand of diaper. :))

I use puppy pads and newspaper, especially in the ones that use their litter box AND wee all over.:))

They are ok for temporary usuage like an undercover for a run on your carpet as you could use them again but for everyday usage could be dangerous as they could easily be chewed and as it's fiberous material inside may cause twining inside the piggies stomach which could not be digested! I like your thinking though as I mentioned this to Louise (SunshineandTwinkle my mad OH) about a year ago lol, you know what they say "Great Minds" hehe :(|)

They cant eat it... its underneith the fleece.

Then there is not much use for the Underpads as Piggies don't pee enough to go through the fleece well enough for them to soak it up and I cannot see a piggie peeing as much as children do haha

dont laugh at this statement... but i have never known 2 little creatures wee and poo as much as sparkle and crunchie.
When i changed their C & C house yesterday, one corner was saturated , it had gone through the fleece, through two layers of towel and the 2 layers of paper under that was wet. i spot clean twice a day and change the whole lot every 2 days.
Anyway i will see how it goes and keep a close eye on it

Uh why would we laugh? Can I ask if thats where you also have your water bottle? As they leak readily and piggies get blamed for weeing there lol If they are peeing that much then it would be of use, however you would need to regularly turn the mat to an opposite corner which would be required probably [*]wheekly[/*]! hehe

My two boys wee mostly in their litter tray but I bed them down in my living room as follows:
I have wooden floor -so need a bit of comfort under there little feetsiesx)
2 bin liners
3 puppy pads
Giant bath sheets folded in half
Fleece
they have Guinness beer towels under the food and water areas which can be changed along with food bowls (OH runs a bar :p)

I've still know a little bit of pee to get through to my floor hence why I put the bin liners down to protect it these days :{

No water bottle is at other end. What i thought of with the pampers sheets is to cut it up into squares big enough to cover the corner patch, and change it every day.

when i was using fleece bedding i used the pampers change mats, they worked to some extent but no matter how many clips etc i used so they couldnt bury themselves under the fleece they still managed to do so and ended up nibbling on the change mat. as i work at the hospital i used continence pads and they were better and free too but i dont use fleece anymore.
