I just bought gripe water for my Piggie who tends to get gassy every now and then, but some of the ingredients I've never heard of before. It includes vegetable glycerin, which I heard could be either palm, soy , or coconut oil. I know coconut oil is fine, but can guinea pigs eat palm oil and soy oil? Other ingredients are citric bioflavonoid extract and citric acid, which I believe are both found in oranges so I'm guessing their fine. However baking soda is also in their, which I've heard can cause more bloating? Please reply soon!

Have you tried gently massaging her tummy x Best to take her to the vets and get something to get her tummy moving x Hope she makes a full recovery!

I've been massaging her tummy a few times today, and one timeI heard some gases come out :). It's quite painful though. She's eating hay and running around beautifully. We have cisapride at hand but I'm holding off because her poop is kind of an ON and off thing, and cisapride is quite strong. Her stomach is huge though, I'm quite stumped. I know she'll get better but how can I help her? The vets
don't do much for gases. They give us cisapride recommend simethicone and say to syringe feed her. We're going to a guinea pig rescue tomorrow so hopefully they can give us some advice. Although cause of school we will be gone most of the day, so no tummy massages 😐. This really sucks, I just wish I could get them out.

Please take your piggy to a vet as an emergency. Her tummy should not be big and gas / bloat can be fatal if left
Last time she had a gas episode we got through it with tummy massages, cisapride, metacam, prayers, critical care, and the tiniest bit of simethicone (before I knew I shouldn't give it to her). The last gas episode before this one was even worse. We still have all those things minus the cisapride (since the syringe broke and that's very specific dosing). She's not liking the critical care too much, but she's eating lots of hay and being an active lil baby. If anything starts going downhill, we will go to the vet. But she seems to be getting better day by day, and I know she'll make a full recovery :))
