Cat x 0:)

If it's safe for animals, maybe you could paint the run, and then leave the run out over night to dry and the fumes of the paint should be gone.

What make paint is it?

I know you can treat wood with something to stop it rotting that is safe for animals but not sure what it is, sorry :-\ I wouldn't leave it untreated as it wouldn't last very long in the garden, whatever they use on hutches would be ideal I suppose.

if it says on the tin safe for animals then that will be fine, P@H sell a pet safe wood treatment for £4.99

I painted all my runs and 1 hutch with paint safe for piggies and they have been absolutely fine it didnt really smell to be honest and dried super quick

I've just painted my hutch with B&Q timber paint, animal & plant safe.No problems so far! cheap to!
