Hi,
We are new to guinea pigs (we got 4 14 week old girls at the weekend) at the moment they are kept in a hutch in the garden and we have a large run that they are put into during the day. Will they be ok over the winter? My concern is that I want them to get lots of attention and they are much more likely to get that if they are in the house. We can make space in the playroom. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced solution? The garage is not an option as it is full of "boys toys" and we don't have a shed.

Many thanks

I would have them indoors for winter. A c and c cage is ideal as you can make it to any size. If you have two piggies then 3 by 5 is a nice size.

I have 4 girls and brought them in for the first time last winter. I bought 2 ferplast 120 cages from ebay for very cheap, and joined them together in an L shape with a ramp to join the cages. This was mainly because we are pretty limited on space indoors, and I didn't want to spend alot on a cage which would only be used in winter.
I found two bargain cages within collection distance of me so they worked out at £1.04 and £25 each.

I think if you can bring them indoors, then you definitely should. Ferplast cages (like in the picture above) can also be stacked if you don't have the floor space - two planks of wood or similar placed on top of the first cage will help support the weight of the second and stop it buckling.

Zooplus.co.uk also tend to have fairly cheap indoor cages.

you can pick up cages cheap and c&c is a cheap cage .You don't even need correx, I have a ground sheet and fleece. If hubby is handy he could make an indoor run and just put ground sheet and fleece underneath with litter trays or attach the cage. People sell cages cheap on here sometimes Where are you
