Heya,

Currently in West Midlands… but going down to Oxford on Sunday for an event and also have a vets appointment in Northampton on the Monday.

Just thinking we could save on fuel for the double journey by bringing the pigs with us in a pop up pen, and leave them in the hotel/apartment for the day while we were out on Sunday. Then we all go to Northampton on Monday.

In theory the logistics make sense but I’m not sure how they would handle it as they’ve never been away from home before, and one of our boys is already feeling poorly.

Just wondering if anyone has ever travelled with their pigs overnight? Would it be best to leave them at home and just do the drive twice?

We have taken a piggy away with us overnight before, and it worked quite well.

But a lot will depend on where you are staying, and the piggy in question.
We took Ruby away with us for 2 nights when she was poorly after a bladder flush and need round the clock care (including medication and syringe feeding).
We took along some of her regular bedding and pretty much recreated her C&C with cable tied grids.
This worked quite well as we were stying in my husband's work flat, so we knew it well, and it was easy to take everything we needed.
Plus we didin't have to worry about noisy neighbours, or hotel staff bursting in to clean and discovering a guinea pig in the room!

How much time would it save and would the place you are staying be ok with this and be able to offer an appropriate place for a piggy pen?
