Hi! I took my 1.5 year old pig Suzie to the vets a couple of weeks ago. She was being excessively dominant to the other pig for around 2 months and her hair was thining across her right side. She is rumble strutting and mounting every time the other pig even moves, it just seems like it never stops. It's like suzie's stressed out all the time.
The vet felt her around where the cysts would be and said they couldn't find anything wrong and gave me some xeno just in case there were parasites causing the hair loss. They also recommended a pet remedy diffuser to reduce her stress but I'm concerned as the other pig has had respiratory issues in the past and I feel like it could trigger it again.
Suzie has also lost around 50g since November but has stayed around 1055g since Jan. Nothing has changed since the appointment except when I got her out today I noticed a small patch of crust at the base of her nipples. I guess I'm just looking for some advice really as I don't know if I'm over reacting or need to take her back to the vets. Especially since the vet didn't find anything wrong only a couple of weeks ago. Thanks in advance :)

Being extra dominant, hair loss and crusty nipples are symptoms of cysts. I’m assuming the vet didn’t offer to scan her? I would take her back a request a scan - Is the vet cavy savvy? If not, then perhaps try a different practice
I would not use the plug in.

Sows: Behaviour and female health problems (including ovarian cysts)

Thanks for the fast response! I did see their resident piggy vet who has helped me in the past, it didn't help that I couldn't go inside so she couldn't find the hairloss I'd mentioned and it's hard to describe behaviour issues that happen at home. I'll definitely book an appointment and get a scan.

Hormonal problems, crusty nipples and hair loss are all symptoms of ovarian cysts. If the vet couldn’t feel any cysts, they could be really small and will only show up on an ultrasound scan so that would be my next move.
I wouldn’t use the plug in either

Thanks for the reply, that's good to know! I'll definitely book an appointment to get a scan.
