Hi everyone,

Today at 4:00 eastern US time, my 4 year old Buttercup is having her "larger than her bladder" cysts drained, and a lupron injection in an attempt to keep then away for a while. Spay has not been an option due to her age, other health issues, and the vet's and my confort level with attempting it.

That's all, I'm worried it could rupture during the procedure and losing her. Long term I'm aware it might not be anywhere near a permanent solution, and I accept that.

Many of you have helped on my last thread about her chronic UTIs and the possibility of it being IC (vet doesnt think so, but researched glucosamine for me and gave a suppliment recommendation that's being delivered Friday). I hope she has a chance to start taking it and see if it helps.

Thanks for reading and for any replies 💕 I'm feeling sad and counting the hours.

I’ve got everything (fingers and paws) crossed for your lady. Hope it goes well.

The wait is always an anxious time but the draining of the cysts is nowhere near as invasive as a full spay. I’m sure she’ll be ok.

Try and keep your mind occupied whilst you are waiting for the call x

Absolutely. It has to be done anyway so I just have to get through it. I will update later but I know it'll get late your time.

We love our beautiful woman! Her little cage mate is hoping the lupron cools her jets! FDC7135F-17A2-4FC2-951E-CB3C97ED8BA6.webpB9D1B63D-6845-4D5D-B222-06C73B59CA83.webp1DD2E345-A778-4F09-B032-86D555EB1BF9.webp

Buttercup's relaxing at home. They didn't have a lot of luck getting fluid out. Just a few MLs from each side, because she was struggling more then when she has her bladder cystos.

She got the lupron and I guess we just wait and see now. It was unclear if they want to bring her back and try draining more with sedation. I'll probably call and ask in a few days.

🐷😴

Thank you 💕

I just woke up and she's her normal self. Wondering if we'll notice a difference with the lupron.

Hopefully they will try again with sedation at some point. The vet seemed really nervous about it (she is still learning guinea pigs, our original vet left but is still in touch with her)

Aw, she’s beautiful  Hoping this Lupron will make a difference to the cysts x
