I only have a backyard.... concrete and no grass which is disappointing.... but I was thinking that at least the concrete will help keep my guinea pigs nails short.
anyway, my question is, has anyone else only got a back yard, and although nowhere near as good as having a run on grass, will it still be ok for them?

To make it a bit more "interesting", I was thinking of putting a cardboard box on its side for a hidey place, lots of hay, a fleecy bed (as i cant imagine too much concrete being good!)

I don't have a lawn either, just stone slabs in my back garden. But it's still good for them to get fresh air and run around in the warmer months. I just pick fresh grass for them, so they still get that. I put lots of tunnels, toys, hidey house, food & water bottle for them....mine all love it. :)

Tunnels are a great idea. when i had guinea pigs when i was a teenager (many moons ago!), i remember i was forever constructing tunnels out of anything i could find around the house... turned into quite an "assault course" :))

cant wait for mine to be ready for re-homing with me... 2 weeks to go !

My piggys are so spoilt. Even though run was at new house - as moving in 8 days! panic - I still held them on the lawn so they could fill their bellies up with grass!

we have grass and paving and i use both for them. i usually put a big fleece blanket on part of the floor when on the paving aswell (not on very hot days)
