I have moved the piggies indoors in the utility room for the winter, but they are in hutches which are hard to get to in a small space and they take alot of room up also they are very dark for them as not alot of natural light get in.

I have a 6ft x 4ft run with a lid outside, and I was thinking of using this inside with a shower curtain as a base and then towels and fleece on top.

It would give my sows plenty of room and for the boys I could buy a indoor cgae but can't afford to buy three indoor cages

what do you think is it possible?:)

Sounds ok. Zooplus have a large indoor cage for£49 plus accesories,Item number209457.2. You could stand it inside your run raised up on 2 small plastic stools . This would mean that you are not taking floor space from your sows. Dont know how many boars you have though I have found this a most useful and roomy cage

Just to say what a clever idea, why did I never think of that? rolleyes:))

I use a metal outdoor playpen as my girls indoor cage. Its one that should be hexagonal but I have made it into a rectangle. It only cost £24.99 so a real bargain :)

I have one of those also, that gives me an idea for the boys cage now as well :))

It works well for me as we have 2 dogs and a cat so a c&c wouldn't work, its just the same but with high sides :)

Yes we also have a dog, the wooden run I have has a lid which is good and I have a net for the other metal run:))

yes same here I love c&c cages but they are too low for safety with a dog

We've done this too to bring the piggies inside for the winter, we've got the run coming out from the hutch with the floor made of two shower curtains covered by fleece, it works wonderfully :) xx

Thank you, well its in now and I am also using a shower curtain as a base then fleece/towels they are loving their new accommodation:))

Just wondering whether boys would fight if their cage is placed inside the girls run? Would they not smell the girls and start scrapping?
