Hi! newbie here trying to get all the info I need before I get my guinea pigs.
So I was thinking is it best to have guinea pigs outside or inside?
I have a big bedroom and would love to have them in a indoor cage in there. The only problem is they might be noisy at night and I like my sleep. I could have them in a huch outside but then I worry about the weather.

What does everyone else think?

Any indoor cage and hutch recomendations would great:)

hello and welcome, lots of people on here keep their piggiea inside, as i do, if you look on the threads you will see different set up s for keeping them indoors, c&c cages are great! no reason why you could nt keep them in your bedroom, they might disturb you a bit at first, but you will get used to it over time!

if your looking to get piggies in the next few months they will have to be indoor piggies. but could go out next summer.

my piggies have the room next to me and the only thing i can hear at night is a couple of noisy ones on the water bottles.

I say indoors all the way! I have mine indoors. You never really hear them when you are trying to sleep apart from when they use their water bottles. You do get used to the noise though. Having them indoors means you see them a lot more and they become part of your family. It is lovely. You interact with them through out the day and develop more of a bond. I would really recommend it.

The next one up the Ferplast 140 is far better for them. Wouldnt you consider a c and c cage? They are fantastic. I wish I knew about them when I first got piggies.

I would love a c and c cage but it's just the way my bedrooom is layed out as I have my bed at one end of my room and the other end I have a desk with my hamster cage on so the c and c would be in the middle of room which is not really ideal and I have two radiators at both ends of my room. Guinea pigs can't be next to radiators right?
If you think the 140 then i'll consider that cage.

Yes not a good idea to have them next to a radiator. The good thing about the ferplast 140 is you can get a stand for it. I used to have that cage myself.

piggyfan thanks for your help. I think I will get the Ferplast 140 cage:)

My piggies are indoors outdoors! they have their own insulated and heated shed. ;)
