I moved my girl's hutch into the porch the beginning of winter. Some days it can get hot in there now. When can I move their hutch outside?
I got them March last year and they had been outside all winter, so I left them out but brought them a snugglesafe heat pad. They were fine last year, but now they are used to being in the porch. I leave the porch door open during the day, now its warmer and on good days they have been outside in their run (only when I have been home). I have slowly been getting them used to the fresh air again, but when can they go out? The night time temperature is about 7 - 8 degrees at the moment. :)

Hello my guinea pigs have been outside for about 6weeks but if it gets very frosty on a night time then I put them back in the shed or just put extra hay in the sleep area.......may 2 don't seem to mind a little cold.

I'm planning on putting my boys out in the beginning of May, but the weather is quite mild at the moment so you could put them out now.

Thank you to everyone who replied. I have done it. I was cleaning out their hutch in the porch today and it was too hot for me, so it would be for them.
They are enjoying their run in the sun today and when they go to bed later they will find their hutch outside. I have put extra bedding just for this first week. I'm sure they will be fine.
Thank you again, 8;) enjoy the sunshine

I have put mine outside this weekend, they have been in the shed since Feb when we got them :)

Thank you to everyone who has replied. My girls survived the night, and they are wrapped up for another night. I think they are enjoying being back out in the fresh air. They certainly looked happy today.

Bless them! Thay're probably enjoying the new sights and sounds of the great outdoors again (from their run and hutch).

Thanks. The cat run is next to their hutch and the cat's are enjoying their friends again. The girls like to watch the cat's too. Luckily the cat's can never quite reach the piggies. They are all so funny to watch. Baby teases the cats the most.:(|)

Mine do the same! They get really close to the wire so the cats can sniff them and then make funny noises which frighten the cats!?! I find it very strange as my cats are quite fond of hunting small rodents yet are terrified if they get to close to the piggies! :))
