I have posted in earlier thread that at the moment my 2 piggies are in a hutch one piggies is a mature fat piggies girl. and the other one is a baby girl i bought her 3 weeks ago from pets at home, and has she grown!!
now i am still thinking of buying a large cage for them both and to keep them indoors. this is because where we live is a flat, and we have no garden.or space outdoors to keep them. we do have a communal garden but foxes and cats roam around every-night. and it is not private..
I keep thinking the cages will not be big enough to let the pigs run around in.
i don't want them quashed in an enclosed small cage.. is there any cheap cages around with hight and length.for them. and would the piggies get accustomed to being indoors? thanks

Hi Paul!

Bringing them indoors sounds like a great idea! :) They'll love being around you more indoors.

One of my boars died a few weeks ago and have had Alan in since then and he has been paired with Oscar. They will be fine to bring them indoors at this time of year; only big temperatures would make a difference I'd have thought.

I now have them in a C&C cage although you can get other large cages from online stores such as Zooplus.

I am so glad I now have them indoors; I love seeing their personalities and it means if you do have a really busy day they are still inside with you and it's much easier to give them the attention they deserve when you don't have to go outside to a communal garden! :)

we have moved to a flat with a communal garden, we have not brought the piggies with us, at present there are in a safe garden with a friend. and we travel the 4 miles to feed them and to play with them etc. and we want them here with us, which is why we are thinking of a cage.

I also live in a flat and my piggies are indoors. Mine are in a big c & c cage which offers great space options as you build it to your own requirements. There is lots of info about them in the housing section.

If you want a commercial cage, then it needs to be 4ft x 2ft for 2 pigs. This is a good size cage at a reasonable price.

You can also get 140cm cages- Ferplast make one.
:)

It is always best to keep guinea pigs indoors. They are part of your family after all so should be with you. I have three sows in a Ferplast 140 cage. This is the biggest cage I have seen available. It has space but I let them out every day for three or four hours as I do not feel it is big enough. I am now saving to build a c and c cage. I suggest you build one too as it is the only way to really give them enough room.

hey...
i used to live in a flat so i feel your pain...
this is a HUGE cage... and would give your guys a massive amount of space....
as long as your flat has enough room to accomodate it... :))
i know my old one wouldnt have...!
lmoa...

hope this helps...

This is the cage I have and it is not huge at all! You still have to let the guinea pigs out each day. When one of my girls are on heat it seems too small which is why I am saving for a c and c cage.
