Hello, Iv'e got an outdoor run coming today. My hutch is against 3 walls up next to the house and I was thinking about putting the run in front, but its on concrete paving. Is it ok for piggies to run around on that surface? We do have grass but its very long at moment and we have a lot of cats in garden so grass could have cat wee on, sick of finding cat poo everywhere. Also Iv'e heard grass is very rich, I give them a hand full in their cage every other day (washed) would they get ill just being let loose on grass when we get it sorted? Also if I bring run in house could I put newspaper and fleece down for them in it? Last question, is it too cold and windy at mo for them to be in run outside? Any help advice really appreciated.

Hi all, my run didn't come missed the delivery picking kids up from school arrrgh! Anyway, see above, is it ok for piggies run to be on patio?

Piggies are fine to run round on concrete :) My girls have two runs, one on the grass (which we have to supervise) and one in the yard.

When they're on the concrete, I provide a fleece blanket covering a quarter or half of the floor so they can sit and lay on something softer if they wish.

The advantage of concrete is it helps to keep the piggies nails short :)
