Hi guys - we have a large patio near the house and I'm thinking of getting a run so my indoor piggies can go outside on lovely sunny days - April onwards etc. We have a large garden too but with it being North-east facing the grass remains wet and muddy for ages.

Anyway - my concern is that I don't know what to put on the patio for my boys to run around on. Surely the stone floor will be too cold and hard on their little feet and will gives them sores. What do you guys use? I was thinking I could put a fleece blanket down but it would get filthy pretty quickly and the wee wouldn't be absorbed very well.

Maybe I should just wait for the summer when they can go on the grass?

Any advice would be appreciated. x Cheers

Hi there! I have two outdoor runs and when the weather permits they go in there for a bit while I clean out cages ect (it has been really mild this year) our patio is concrete so if the grass is muddy they do go on it - it's fine and even keeps their claws nice and worn down, however I also pop an old towel on top of it with their pigloos and a big pile of hay so that they don't have to be constantly on it. :-)

Thanks Claire1973 - of course, I'd forgotten I can put hay down on it then sweep up later! I have loads of old bits of towels too and fleece (I always trawl the local charity shops to see what they've got too) - thanks for the advice x :)p
