Hi,

I'm looking for outdoor run set up ideas - I can see there are stickies for cages and hutches, etc but I can't see any sticky posts for runs.

I have ordered a Runaround starter kit (www.runaround.co.uk) but most of the set ups on the website are for rabbits so they have more sloped pipes and tunnels.

I'd love to see some outdoor set up photos if anyone felt like sharing one or two...?

I can't wait to see my piggies having a proper play on the lawn.

Thank you :)

Hope that link works!
Finally got our runaround set up put in. So pleased with it. Decided to set the run up on concrete, out pigs can be out all day without me worrying about something digging its way in. Also hoping t will help keep the boys nails a bit filed. There is a small area f soil at the end over which I am going to put a small bit of turf. I may also grow some grass in trays and put that in there.
The pigs love it! They constantly scamper up and down the pipe, they are so happy!

Thats great - thank you.

Was it easy to go through the side of the hutch rather than the wire front?

I've ordered the starter as I didn't have a run up to the job but I'm already looking at cheaper runs I can use to extend it.

I'm torn on the grass or concrete options as well - I love to see piggies on grass but worried about overgrazing and whether this sort of set up wont be as movable.

I left hubby to build our set-up. It did take a bit of work to attach the tunnel to the wooden hutch. He had to saw the hole out. Do you have anyone handy at DIY that could lend you a hand?
I do worry a bit that my two don't have the option to be on the grass all day. Our run is bolted to the concrete to stop predators, so is not moveable at all. It's hard to see from the pic, but we've left a patch if soil at the end(currently covered in straw), that we intend to put some turf on, and may put some grass trays in too. I figured in the end that the top priority was them having space to roam all day, and their safety.

Not sure I'd call my hubby handy at DIY but he does seem quite keen on doing it!

Thank you for your reply :)

Your pic is gorgeous - I had an amazing piggy who looked like yours years ago. He used to roam free around my Mum's garden - he knew he was special x

Wow, that looks brilliant! Bet your pigs love it! My 2 love zooming up and down the tubing all day, they've got so much more freedom now.

Do you find your guinea pigs like to poo in the tube? I'm not sure how best to clean it out :oS
