Hello there,
I am new to this site and I'm planning to get some Guinea pigs in a few weeks.
I have had Guinea pigs in the past, when i was younger, but they were simply kept in an outdoor cage.

You will see below a few photos of the set-up we have at the moment, it's an old chicken pen. unfortunately both our chickens passed away earlier this year and i would like to utilise this area for the new pigs.

I was planning on modifying the coop by adding a sleeping area and a cut-out in one of the sides for light and air circulation.
The idea is to leave the flap open during the day so the pigs can wonder in and out as they please, and shut it up at night - so it's almost like a petting farm arrangement.
The ground is fairly churned up from the chickens, what would you recommend putting down for the pigs?

Any advice/comments welcome!

Grass! They will definitely need some where large enough (difficult to tell the size of the coop) that's totally under cover to shelter in / live in when it's cold. I would also say, chicken wire isn't great as if a bit is damaged, it all unravells and it isn't fox proof. Weld mesh may be a better option.
