At the moment the girls are inside at night and out in the day . If during clement weather they are out 24/7 would they be sensible enough to keep off dew wet grass ie is it instinctive behaviour?

I wouldn't risk it. Piggies aren't always blessed with the greatest brains :))

Mine are outside piggies. I don't put them on the grass until most of the dew has gone. At the mo that is about 10 am here in the Sunny South :)

Piggies are run more by their stomachs than by their brains and they won't instinctively stay off Dewey grass. It would be best for access to grass to be limited to when it is nice and dry
