Hi

I've adopted 2 piggies and they came with their wooden hutch. The hutch is on our patio, its two levels but straight to the ground, its not on legs or anything. I'd prefer to have it off the ground. I can't see any stands online. I could make a stand with a base but I'm unsure of trays and paints/Stains I can use. Any tips?

A stand is a good idea especially in the event of minor flooding as it keeps the hutch up and out of the water, and for normal rain it keeps it from getting damp inside too. Cuprinol garden shades and wilkos colour garden paint are both animal safe, many stains are too but I cant name specific ones as I have never used them.

I think good for wood is ok for pets (just search that phrase online). It's a treatment that lasts a good while apparently but it doesn't seem very cheap. It's benefits seem to be the time it lasts and that your wood product still looks as it did before you put it on (assuming that's something you want - not a benefit otherwise!)

I am not sure about stands. I have the same hutch and I raise it up by stacking bricks under the hutch legs.
