Hi,

I'm currently thinking of buying my 2 boy guinea pigs a large wooden hutch with a run, but they all have no bottoms as they are designed to go onto grass outside. What can i use on the floor of the run that will be waterproof/easy to clean/durable. The cage is going in my living room which is carpeted and i obviously don't want wee's and poo's going straight onto it!

Welcome to the Forum.
You will get lots of great advice here.

What sort of cage are your boys in at the moment?
I had a wooden hutch inside, although it did have a wooden floor on the bottom level.
But as your piggies are indoors would you consider a C&C cage?
Having tried both options I really do think that the C&C cage offer the most space and flexibility, plus they are a lot easier to keep clean.

Hello and welcome.
On floor surfaces indoors there are a number of things you can use to protect the covering from pee. Old bath mats (For my first piggies years ago I bought a number of cheap ones from IKEA) work well. Or you can use a shower curtain or a piece of vinyl flooring - all work well. If you aren't using bath mats Then put puppy pads/towels on top as the absorbent layer. Finally I add a piece of fleece on top for them to walk on.
