Hello, I have some friends who work at a place that is open to the public, and they educate children on wildlife, nature, and also pet animals (the kids don't get to handle the animals but get to look at them). They recently adopted two rescue guinea pigs that live in one of the outdoor enclosures (all of the animals that live there are rescues, they give them a forever home)
There is a nice amount of space for them in their enclosure, but it needs sprucing up a bit, and though we have all studied animal care, we didn't get the full experience of how to fully, properly care for guinea pigs and let them live to their fullest. So I want to help the best I can to make the guinea pig enclosure both look nice and be as beneficial for the piggies as possible!
The items currently in their enclosure are:
A plastic tube
A small wooden hay rack
One hide made out of three sides and a roof
One hide that's a wooden arch made of sticks, two open ends
Their hutch
A bowl
A small ramp up to another ledge
A space under that ledge which is like another hide
Please, any suggestions of what can be added? I will try and get some pictures soon. Any toy recommendations, or chews or treats or general build-it-yourself enclosure ideas? (There's a workshop on site, they could make some wooden things)
Thank you very much, I shall be reading around this site myself but would really appreciate any direct help
