I just took out my guinea pig in the run and when i went to put her back i noticed her pee looked a little orangish.
should i be concerned?
what does it mean?

Hi and welcome to the forum :)
what type of bedding is your piggie on? could it be from that?
Are you in the UK if so i'd go to the vets in the morning as a precautionary measure :)
Meanwhile make sure your piggie is warm and comfortable, lots of water and perhaps bed them on towels or fleece so you can see if there's any more blood in urine. It could be an UTI which they will need meds to clear it up.
Healing wheeeeeeeeks for your piggie x>>x>>

i have carefresh bedding
and no, i dont live in the UK

thankss, ill try that.

Has the pig been eating carrots lately? can chage the colour of the wee.

Sometimes certain veg can discolour the urine like beetroot, carrots, etc. If not then I would take your piggie to the vets in case of blood in the urine.

oh thanks.
yeah, now that i think about it, i left her in the care of my brother because i went away for the weekend and i found alot of half eaten carrots in the cage.

i hope it was just that and not anything serious.:...

Hi bmblx3 ... yes it could just be carrots that they have eaten staining the urine.

As has been said above, both carrots and especially beetroots can discolour piggy's urine.

Keep an eye on them and if it continues, and/or they seem in discomfort when passing urine or go off their food, then seek advice from a vet.

okay, thank you soo much everybody xx>>>

you guys have been sooo helpful(:
