Today, I saw one of the piggies go on top of the other one. I'm worried because if this continues, it might mean something isn't good. Is this normal? I'm scared. Gosh.. hehehe. Both of the guinea pigs seem fine and one of them is making a happy squeaky sound.

Hi and welcome!

Humping is mild dominance behaviour for all guinea pigs and nothing to worry about. All guinea pigs need establish/re-establish the hierarchy in a new home.

You can find out more if you look at our boar guide or sow behaviour thread at the top of this section.

Thanks :) I'll make sure I read the thread.

As said, humping is normal and usually nothing to worry about, but maybe if you posted a good clear, close up of the pigs "bits" we can just confirm they are both girls, just incase.

xx

This is a good idea! Just to make sure! :)) It has been said already but humping is a normal behaviour, it happens most times my piggies meet, its over with very quickly then they trot off to do their own thing. They do it to re-establish their dominance.
